Little Mack Simmons

Mack and I had a very special relationship.  One that most of his friends could never come to grips with. They just couldn't understand why this prominent black artist found so much in common with me.  Mack and I were more like father and son than friends. God brought us together to work on a common goal, getting his message out.  We had several marathon talks about the Lord and finally, after hearing the true message of the Gosplel, Mack was saved.  He changed his name to Malcolm and started preaching the word.  As you can imagine, this didn't bode too well with most of the people he had associated with for most of his life.  So much was the determination to break our friendship, that someone actually took a shot at me through the front door of the studio one night.  That never stopped us from sharing the bond we had.  Reverend Malcom Simmons passed away a few years ago, but he will live forever in my heart.  God bless you Malcolm and Rest In Peace.

He was one of the top harp blowers (and at times the best) in Chicago . . . It now appears the gifted Chicago bluesman has found stability and a new career boost . . . Welcome back, Mack.
